was short lived. One week and cancelled. 6 singers, not including me. Owner has no patience and does not understand that it can take time for a show to grow.

That is very typical from bar owners. Did the venue promote your Karaoke show in any way or just rely on you to pack the house as so many of then do?

Sorry to hear. It's a hard one in some areas these days. Even with the owners that get the concept of building, they may not have the cash flow or cash reserves to carry it as revenues are down. It's big bang on the first night or see you later and big bang takes a bit of investment in advertising, drink specials, prizes for the first singers, etc. And still it may take some word of mouth to really get it going.

This is a slow time of year for us as we get a combo of the first cold weather hitting and people starting to save for the holidays--and go to holiday parties and events. It takes a bit of them getting cabin fever before they start coming out again. But on the other hand, there are the holiday parties. Something we got in on too late last year was having some places use karaoke as a potential add on when they book company parties. Wonder if you can get on some of those lists out your way. In any case, I know you will keep at it and it's all experience for the next time. Hope you get another chance, soon.

No quite surprizingly they actually put an ad in the paper advertizing it. Just said Karaoke though. Wonder if they had used my company name or my stage name if things might have been different.
